To get started, you must have a destination. Life is full of hills and valleys, some of which would make us want to quit along the way. It is during these times that we need to check our focus and remember that the focus needs to be on the finish, not the difficulties along the way. Set your eye on the goals. Do not be worried of the difficulties on your way but keep your focus on your goals. It is the beginning of another New Year. What are your goals? You will not go far unless you know what your goals are. If you do not know what your goals are, you could inadvertently work against your own success. As you begin this New Year, know your destination; know your goals so that you may experience all that God has for you this year.

White Elephant?
We have all probably experienced a Christmas party where White Elephant gifts were exchanged. Those cheap or weird gifts like a chia pet, anything from Ronco or K-tel or a Barry Manilow record (sorry BM fans). A White Elephant gift is really a 3rd rate gift, given usually as a joke. Sometimes they may be given because, quite frankly, we can’t afford a real gift.
While we may give White Elephant gifts, God does not. God is in the business of giving and He has given the greatest gift one can give, His One and Only Son, Jesus Christ.
We invite you out to elevate church this coming Sunday to hear God’s way of giving which never includes a 3rd rate gift… and neither should ours.

Christmas is upon us… are you ready? If your like most people, maybe you are feeling the stress with the business of the season. There are countless expectations; getting the decorations up, getting just the right gifts, preparing meals, traveling, the list can go on and on… In Luke 10, Jesus has come for a visit to Martha’s house and boy is she ever busy… trying to get everything just right, in other word’s “stressing out”. Can you relate? Christmas is not just a holiday, it is a Holy day. Your holiday may not be stress free, but our hope is that you can find a Mary heart in your living room of life—enjoying God’s presence and peace this Christmas season.
We invite you to come out to elevate church this Christmas season and learn how to enjoy this special time of year—NOT just “survive this stressful time of year”.

The general thought out there is that scripture has only one purpose—eternal life. Most people do not realize that all scripture is not law, but that some teachings are specifically designed for those who want to know what is best.
The truth is—we only have one body to work with here on earth, and it is our responsibility to take care of it. It is in our best interest to pursue being a healthy person, not only for ourselves but for those around us.
Come out this Sunday and discover the truths on why we should make our health a high priority and start living a healthier lifestyle.

Ever get done reading one of Jesus’ teachings and feel like a dunce, and have the thought, "I don’t get it."? Well, you're not alone. You might think you know Jesus pretty well, but when you dig deeper into Scripture you will discover that some of the things Jesus said were, and are today... tough to understand or swallow. There are passages that can often leave us, modern day followers of Christ confused and thinking… "I don’t get it!" Over the next few weeks Pastor Shane will lead us through four tough teachings of Jesus and hopefully bring a better understanding to what Jesus meant then and what it means for us today.
We will be looking at The Unforgivable Sin in Matthew 12, a contradiction of who Jesus is in Matthew 10 and Luke 12, The Rich Young Ruler in Mark 10 and The Canaanite woman in Matthew 15. Hopefully you will discover that questions and doubts are OK- and will usually end up deepening and strengthening your faith. So come ready to learn what exactly Jesus is saying in those teachings so we can change from, “I don’t get it,” to “Oh, noooowww I get it!”

In the midst of all the voices in your head, how do you know which is actually the voice of God? How does he speak to us today? How can we avoid listening to the wrong voice?

As kids most of us probably believed in Monsters, and they lived under our bed or in our closet. Of course we grow out of that stage... or do we?
As adults, we might not believe we have those monsters under or bed or in our closet, but we do have Monsters. These are monsters which have taken root in your mind, invaded the brain that God has given you. These pesky monsters steal your joy, rob you of your peace and possibly destroy relationships in your life. These Monsters keep us from living and thinking right, living the life that God has for you.

Join us here at elevate church beginning September 2nd for a new message series, “No Religion”. Pastor Shane will lead us through the book of Galatians as we discover that you don’t have to be a religious person to be a Christian, and that God did not send Jesus to make us religious. Through this series we will learn how to avoid the bondage of religion and live in the freedom of Christ.
